EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE INSTRUCTOR COURSE

CPR and First Aid are Key Skills that are IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE! As an Emergency First Response Instructor, you teach skills based on internationally recognized emergency care guidelines, and you can offer courses to anyone. The great thing about EFR Courses is they make learning easy by providing a comfortable environment to practice Emergency Care Skills. Your students finish the course feeling confident with their new skills and ready to help someone in need.The requirements are they are at least 18 years old and have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
 
An EFR Instructor rating is also a requirement to become a PADI Instructor, but you don’t have to wait until you’re ready to Go Pro. You can complete or refresh this training during your PADI Instructor Training. Your role as an EFR Instructor is to be a coach that creates a positive learning environment. Along with learning how to structure and organize EFR courses, you practice:
  • Presenting Course Content.
  • Encouraging Self-Discovery In Students.
  • Evaluating Student Understanding and Skill Mastery During Hands-On Skills Practice.
  • Managing Effective Scenario-Based Learning Experiences.

The Training for EFR Instructor Training usually starts at 0800hrs and will finish about 1800hrs depend on the learning ability of candidates and to be certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor, an individual must meet the following Performance Requirements:

  1. Complete the Four Self-Study Knowledge Reviews (Primary and Secondary Care Program Standards, Care for Children, Human Body Systems and Medical Emergencies).

  2. Participate in all Eight required Emergency First Response Instructor Course Presentations.

  3. Teach at least Two Primary or Secondary Care Skills from the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) or Secondary Care (First Aid) Courses.

  4. Teach at least One skill from the Care for Children Course.

  5. During Skill Teaching Presentations, Candidates must identify:

  • Problems or ineffective techniques and appropriately correct them using at least two of the following positive coaching methods: Allow self correction then reinforce positive outcome & reinforce proper technique by pointing out effective demonstrations by other participants, staff or in the video.

  • Specifically identify what was effective about a participant’s skill demonstration.

  • Foster teamwork by asking participants to encourage and guide each other.

  • Make general statements and suggestions that avoid singling out individuals and causing embarrassment.

  • Demonstrate Role-Model Techniques for all 11 (required and recommended) Emergency First Response Program Primary and Secondary Skills.

  • Demonstrate Role-Model Techniques for Care for Children Skills: Conscious Choking Child, Conscious Choking Infant, Rescue Breathing – Child, Rescue Breathing – Infant, One Rescuer – Child CPR, One Rescuer – Infant CPR and Automated External Defibrillator use – Child.

      6.  Successfully complete the Emergency First Response Instructor Written Examination with a min. score of 75%.

  • All Participants Are Required To Fill Up The PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding Before Any Diving Activity.
  • All Participants Are Required To Fill Up The PADI Medical Statement Before Any Diving Activity.
  • If There Are Any Pre-Existing Medical Conditions (Eg Asthma, Heart Conditions, Operations Etc) May Prevent You From Diving, Please Consult Your Doctor For A Medical Clearance Before Any Diving Activity.
  • For Certified Divers, A Proof of Certification From Any Training Agency Is Required Before The Diving Activity.
  • Divers Should Not Take Flight 12Hrs After Scuba Diving. 
  • Under 10Yrs Old Are Not Allow To Participate In The Program Except Bubble Maker Program (8 - 9Yrs Old) Conducted In Pool Only.
  • For Children Between 10 - 11Yrs Old Going To Confined Water or Open Water, Parents or Guardian Must Review The Youth Diving Responsibility & Risks FlipChart As Well As Fill Up The Youth Diving Responsibility And Risks Acknowledgement Form Before Any Diving Activity.
  • Cancellations Made BEFORE 1800hrs A Day Before The Scheduled Program/ Course/ Trip Are Fully Refundable.
  • Cancellations Made AFTER 1800hrs A Day Before The Scheduled Program/ Course / Trip For ANY REASONS Are Refundable Subjected To 10% Service Fees.
  • Cancellations Made On Day of The Scheduled Program/ Course / Trip For ANY REASONS Are Non-Refundable.
  • If A Scheduled Program/ Course/ Trip Is Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather, Unsuitable Sea Conditions Or Unavailable Transportation As Determined By The Staff of Calypso Dive Center N Resort Are Fully Refundable.
